I can imagine wearing number 5 to work not simply because of showing shoulders, but because I may be fighting with gravity all day trying to avoid my blouse from dropping down and that is uncomfortable. Yesterday I came across another article with a showing shoulder it is a good example of showing skin with proportion. Plus the fact that I call too much skin a very pronounce cleavage, and a mini skirt. Wearing those things are nice for other occasions. Number 4 also again she is not just showing shoulders and is more covered that number 5. but its way too drop down. and if it goes close to her boobies…. love the pants do. Like number 3 too with a pair of heels.

And I see outfits like these on a lot of girls on my commute. Obviously other offices have stricter dress codes, but if your office code is very bland then workwear trends aren’t necessarily going to work for you. I would only wear these outfits to work… and a disservice to young women? I don’t agree at all and think that’s a bit harsh. But I loved it…

It doesn’t come across as refined, elegant and sophisticated. but as cheap and unstylish. who wants to hire a fashion consultant who can’t even dress properly for work? Unless you are a fashion blogger and your doing an article about what to wear in vacation. Maybe number 1 and 2 are okay for fashion jobs.As it has been already said number 2 it’s too casual! 3 doesn’t even fit the model that blouse looks too big or she looks uncomfortable!

Looks 1 & 2 are actually very similar to what end up wearing most days. So I appreciate this post. I also can appreciate that others may not work in places that have a more relaxed dress code, but calling this a ‘disservice’ to women seems to be coming from a very closed-minded point of view & is a bit harsh. I’m taken quite seriously in my job and if someone chooses to judge me based on the styles I wear, then they’ll just end up being surprised by my qualifications and capabilities. Thanks for this article : )

Natalie, however, is wearing a more office style look with a white shirt and stripe pants. The first dress would be suited for someone who works in fashion, who has the freedom to wear such an outfit. The second one with the stripe trousers is perfect for work in the summer as stripes are so in and you can mix up the logo tee for a different top. The other outfits may be considered sexy, but it is how you wear them. We are giving you the ideas to adapt in your work wardrobe, if the top might not work the trousers might. I do no think we are doing a disservice to young women, but encouraging them to step out of the box when it comes to their style and keep up with current trends.

The first dress is way too short, way too tight and shows way too much skin. #2: is too casual and the last one is too sexy for work, off shoulder nope. Wouldn’t go over well, & a tight leather mini!? What kind of jobs do these women have??

The only industry someone might get by with is the fashion or magazine industry or clothing store where they are all trying to sell this trend. Any job I have ever had if someone had worn 1, 2, 4 and especially 5, they would have been sent home to change for wearing inappropriate clothing.

If you want to wear them on your day off or a night out, fine; but not to work if you want to keep your job or be taken seriously.

It’s hard enough for a young woman to be taken seriously at work without huge ruffles and bare shoulders!! And as for 3, Pirates of the Caribbean, anyone?
