It's seriously time to treat yourself!

@jannid

It was a hard week at work this week, so it couldn’t be helped when I started searching for the best pieces to buy online. I can’t help it. Retail therapy is my chocolate, my comfort. But looking through all the choices, made me realize that I have nothing to wear for summer. Go figure. I haven’t made the adjustment between spring wardrobe to summer wardrobe yet. In fact, I don’t have anything for my summer wardrobe. It’s the constant thought of ‘I need new clothes.’ And I suppose of months trying to not splurge, I do need new clothes. Better yet, I deserve new clothes. And because of the non-splurging, I have some actual real money I can spend on a new wardrobe – that’s two reasons. I don’t need a third.

These are my top fave fifteen pieces to buy online this week:

1/15

Acne Studios Lab vintage denim jacket ($360) available here

2/15

Adidas Originals Superstar Bold Leather Sneakers ($113) available here

3/15

Rag & Bone Cut Off Embellished Denim Shorts ($195) available here

4/15

Yeezy Mesh Ankle Boots Season 3 ($995) available here

5/15

Fenty By Rihanna Oversized Cotton Jersey ($266) available here

6/15

Isabel Marant Demie Denim Skirt ($360) available here

7/15

Fenty By Rihanna Bow Sliders ($93) available here

8/15

Poupette St Barth Bobo Sleeveless Dress ($255) available here

9/15

Valentino Garavani Suede Sandals ($1175) available here

10/15

Citizens Of Humanity Rocket Distressed High-Rise Skinny Jeans ($327) available here

11/15

Burberry Printed Pyjama Shirt ($895) available here

12/15

McQ Alexander McQueen Sleeveless Dress With Lace ($435) available here

13/15

LPA Off The Shoulder Dress ($200) available here

14/15

Ganni Newman Georgette Maxi Dress ($225) available here

15/15

Jimmy Choo Rosa 100 Satin Pumps With Clip-On Fur Pom Poms ($895) available here

The funny thing is, I’m not even halfway done. This covers only a few of the outfits I’m planning on rocking this summer. But my expensive taste really doesn’t help me. But you’ve got to have a good balance, sometimes you need to step away from the high street and really treat yourself. It doesn’t get to happen often, but when it comes around it’s like a mini-Christmas. If you’ve been second guessing yourself about something you’ve wanted for a while, then get it! I bet you deserve it! There’s nothing wrong with treating yourself once in a while!

What are you desperate to splurge on right now?

10 Tips For Picking The Perfect Underwear http://www.theclosetheroes.com/tips-to-pick-the-perfect-underwear/ http://www.theclosetheroes.com/tips-to-pick-the-perfect-underwear/#comments Sun, 21 May 2017 11:00:21 +0000 http://www.theclosetheroes.com/?p=16495

Feel just as good underneath as you do on the outside!

@songofstyle

I am a big lover of lingerie, big boobs or small boobs it doesn’t matter. It’s your chance to feel sexy, even if it is under your clothes. I never used to be a lingerie fan though, I would just shove on anything, whether it matched or not. And don’t get me started on the favorite bra, the one us girls won’t let go of. But ladies, it’s time we all get clued in how to coordinate what we’re wearing on top to underneath. But then again, I don’t need an excuse to keep adding to my lingerie collection, do you?

Scroll down for underwear that compliment the outfit:

1. A Clinging Dress

@blairadiebee

For an outfit like this, you’re not going to want your favorite padded bar to show off your bust. This is the best time to rely on what your momma gave you, and wear a balcony bra to compliment the outfit and you.

1/10

Stella Mccartney stretch-jersey balconette bra ($120) available here.

2. Backless beauties

@chrisellelim

These sort of tops can be a nightmare if you need more support, but they don’t have to be. My friend who was blessed used this bra below, and everything was lifted and controlled. Plus she got to show her bare back without having to go braless!

2/10

Shaper NuBra ($60) available here.

3. Cold shoulder

@chiaraferragni

The Bardot top may seem like your enemy at first, but the perfect strapless bra that does its job is exactly what you need. Look for one that doesn’t have underwire that makes you sore, and get a shape that suits the style of clothes you’re wearing.

3/10

Out From Under Strapless Bra ($39) available here.

4. Plunge Tops

@tuulavintage

For girls who aren’t brave enough to go without a bra or cannot, this one is perfect for those days you want to show a little bit, but not all of it. This bra is perfect for keeping those bad girls in but still picking you up for perfect cleavage.

4/10

Seamless U-Plunge bra ($30) available here.

5. A bra good enough to show off

@mikutas

For a bra that you can just wear to be pretty, and frilly. Pull your whole look together with a bralette that’s relaxed, and good enough to peek out of any top!

Sid Crochet Lace Bralette ($30) available here.

6. CEO of your own life

@chiaraferragni

Be just as sexy underneath, as you are above. Create cleavage but not too much, be subtle but confident!

6/10

Floral Lace Cut Out Bra ($23.69) available here.

7. Summer dresses

@songofstyle

With your lovely low cut summer dresses, it’s the perfect time to break out a push-up bra. Say goodbye to your favorite bra ladies, because this one is about to change all of that!

Striped Push-Up Bra by Tommy Hilfiger ($68) available here.

8. When you want to look put together

@theaugustdiaries

The best time to wear a body is when you’re feeling relaxed, but quietly sexy. Lace bodysuits are huge, and wearing them will bring out your inner woman. They’re good for holding it all together and being natural.

8/10

All Over Lace Body ($40) available here.

9. High fashion

@garypeppergirl

For sleek outfits, you don’t want to be showing your lumpy bumpy bits. So for the smooth, sleek look opt for a underdress that will do the hard work for you!

Stretch-Jersey Slip ($315) available here.

10. Thin material

@garypeppergirl

Us girls at least need one pair of panties that don’t show the line through our thin dresses. Sometimes, it’s a little dangerous to go commando, so stay safe with these panties that will also suck you in!

10/10

Undie-tectable Lace Hipster Pants ($24) available here.

What is the French je ne sais quoi that makes all Parisian girls enviable? Well, part of their secret is in this article. Besides living in one of the most beautiful cities in the world and having a great cultural background and some seriously stylish icons (hello Coco Chanel, Serge Gainsbourg, and Brigitte Bardot) they also have amazing shops and boutiques that promote a really unique style. How To Find Your Personal Style In 5 Easy Steps http://www.theclosetheroes.com/find-personal-style/ http://www.theclosetheroes.com/find-personal-style/#comments Thu, 16 Mar 2017 12:00:58 +0000 http://www.theclosetheroes.com/?p=13140

Ready to find your signature style?

The post How To Find Your Personal Style In 5 Easy Steps appeared first on The Closet Heroes.

]]>

It’s easy to think that signature style is reserved for the sharpest (and most confident) dressers. We’ve all struggled with finding our personal style at some point, gazing into our closet full of clothes we’ll never wear, and in which we don’t even feel good. Finding your personal style is important: beyond making good impressions, it will help give you confidence for every single day! It’s easier than you think, though. Here’s how to build your signature style…

Ready? Just scroll down…

1.

Know Your Shape

photo: Samantha Maria Official

Blazer from Paule Ka, Tee from Mango, Pants from Isabel Marant, Pumps from Gucci, Bag from J.W.Anderson

First of all, analyze the situation and be honest with yourself. As much as we wish to copy all those fashion bloggers, we are all different and we don’t have the same shape which means not everything suits everybody. That’s good, though, dressing for your uniqueness will help you find clothes that make you feel confident and comfortable. Having curves is ok because you are, you know, a woman! What’s important is to take every single aspect of your body as an asset.

2.

Make A Board On Pinterest

photo: thehautepursuit

Trench Coat from Vanessa Bruno, Top from ASOS, Jeans from Cheap Monday, Shoes from Dr Martens, Bag from Louis Vuitton

This is a simple tip that will allow you to define your style very easily. Create an account on Pinterest and pin every single outfit you like. After 10 minutes, look at them. They all have something in common, a theme that will define what you like and who you are. My picks are usually oversized, rocky, and feminine. What are yours?

3.

Get Confident

photo: Blame It On Fashion

Top from H&M, Jeans from H&M, Pumps from Gianvito Rossi, Bag from Cédric Charlier

Because confidence can’t be bought, wearing the coolest clothes on earth won’t be the solution. As I said earlier, take every single part of your body as an asset. Think you can’t? Beyonce and Kate Middleton have two completely different body types, but they’re both iconic and admired! Feel insecure about your own body? So are millions of women. Be you, take time for yourself, make projects and do things you are passionate about. Still struggling? This 60-Second Rule That Will Instantly Make You More Confident should help. And quick.

4.

Define Your Basics

photo: Lucy Williams

Perfecto from Mango, White Tee from ASOS, Trousers from Topshop, Sneakers from Adidas, Bag from Simon Miller

Most of the bloggers follow the basic item + trendy item + designer item balance, which always results in a cool outfit. If you look at Lucy Williams (photo above), she constantly chooses a basic (white tee and a leather jacket), a trendy item (gingham printed trousers) and a designer item (the Simon Miller bag). There are only 10 basics, but there are 1000 different fabrics and shapes. Thanks to that, finding a pair of jeans, for example, can end up being an easy task; have you checked 7 Jeans That Will Make Your Butt Look Amazing?

5.

Consider Your Lifestyle

photo: viennawedekind

Top from Roksanda, Jeans from Citizens Of Humanity, Pumps from Alexander Wang, Bag from Gucci, Glasses from Olivier Peoples The Row

How can you fit these patent leggings and those doc martens into your office life? Loving a certain style isn’t enough, as it needs to represent not only you but also your lifestyle and your goals. It is not about wearing a pencil skirt and some heels at the office (in feminism we trust), but it is about trying to find a balance between what you love and your everyday life.

We’d like to send you some emails about the latest fashion finds, sales and other great stuff. No pressure.

The post 5 Simple Tips To Make Any Outfit Look Great appeared first on The Closet Heroes.

Styling an outfit is part of our morning routine and sometimes we need tricks and tips to help us get a little bit more creative. So yes, we know how tempting it is to go and buy the latest trends, but styling, my dears, is completely free, and you can achieve it with items you probably already have.

Here are our styling tips to make any outfit look great and how to look stylish every day.

1. Add details

how to look stylish every day

Coat from Akris, Top from Joseph, Trousers from M.i.h., Fishnet from ASOS, Boots from Dorateymur, Glasses from ASOS, Bag from Chanel

Whenever you feel your outfit is too basic, just embellish it with some details. Fishnet tights, a cool belt, some statement earrings, a beanie or a scarf if it’s a bit chilly. The possibilities are endless, and it will take your outfit from boring to brilliant in a sec!

2. Choose A Color Palette

Trench Coat from Burberry (similar from ASOS and ASOS), Top from ASOS White, Jeans from Topshop, Boots from ASOS (similar from Rebecca Minkoff), Beanie from Acne Studios, Glasses from Ray Ban

If you carefully look at bloggers’ outfits, you’ll notice they always use the same color palette. Take Aylin Koenig, for example (photo above). She knows which shapes and especially which colors suit her, and you’ll find the same color palette in each of her outfits: gray, pink, black. What you should ask yourself is: What suits your skin tone? What’s trendy? But also what can be reused in many other outfits? Shades such as beige, white, black, and grey are the easiest to match, and will make early morning dressing pretty easy!

3. Balance The Look

photo: wethepeoplestyle

Trench Coat from Topshop, Shirt from Topshop, Jeans from Levi’s, Boots from Topshop

I’m one of those people who love strong pieces. Ripped jeans, fishnet, studs, tartan, military, every single rock influenced clothes. However I like to match edgy pieces with something a bit more casual. My favorites? An oversized sweater tucked in a mini skirt, or ripped jeans with a button up shirt. Everything is about balance. Find a piece that has character and simply mix it with a basic!

4. Play With The Trends

photo: whatoliviadid

Top from Mother Of Pearls, Jeans from ASOS, Bag from Gucci, Boots from Strategia

Since you are reading this post, I assume you like fashion and, as a matter of fact, shopping. With fast fashion and high street shops like Zara, it’s very easy to follow the trends without spending too much. This season? Play with the gingham print, the corset, or even statement sleeves.

5. Denim Is Always A Good Idea

photo: Lisa Olsson

Shirt from Top 16, Jeans from GRLFRND, Boots from Strategia, Bag from & Other Stories

Some pieces and fabrics are timeless. Denim is one of them. A denim jacket or simple jeans will amp up your outfit in a flash. There are so many different styles, flared, cropped, frayed, skinny. There will always be one for your shape and your style. From a cool knit to a basic white shirt and a pair of heels, the styling options are endless!
